Features & Benefits

Performance

  In-Bank Exhaust
The intake tracks enter the engine heads from the outward side, between the cylinder bank like two-stroke V6 engine. The system is YAMAHA's exclusive technology that enhances performance while slashing down the weight and the size.
(Standard on F250A, F200B models)

  Long Intake
Increases the air velocity into the engine for added torque and performance.

  Electronic Fuel Injection
Electronic Fuel Injection is controlled by the ECM (Engine Control Module). The fuel/air mix is matched to engine load and speed for maximum performance and fuel efficiency.
(Standard on F250A, F225A, F200B, F150A, F115A, F75C and F60C models)

  DOHC : Direct-Action
1 cam for the intake valves and 1 cam for the exhaust valves provide more precise valve timing control. The cylinder head features two valves for intake and exhaust each one for more power.
(Standard on Four stroke 75hp above models)

  Engine Control Module
Yamaha's microcomputer control system constantly monitors engine conditions, adjusting ignition timing and fuel-air mixture to provide optimum combustion for sure start, maximum performance, excellent fuel efficiency, and clean exhaust. It also prevents overheat and over-rev and control the safety system such as low-oil-pressure and low-oil-level.
(Standard on Four stroke 60hp above models except F100B)

Comfort

  Long-Span Mounting System
The large rubber mounts and the long vertical length between the upper and lower mounts serve to reduce vibration.
  Labyrinth Exhaust
Minimizes the noise at low rpm rage that gradually expands the exhaust through the labyrinth in uppercase.

Convenience

Shallow Water Drive
The outboard can be set at a tilt angle, preventing it from hitting the bottom when operating in shallow water.

Wide Range PTT
Allows trim all the way to -4o. Negative trim increases acceleration and reduces planning time. Power tilt means effortless trim adjustment and tilt-up.

Prime Start
Yamaha's choke-less operation is automatic and provides sure and quick starting in all climates.

  YDIS : Yamaha diagnostic System
A personal computer is connected to the Engine Control Module for easier diagnostic and accurate engine serviceability.
(Standard on Four stroke Fuel Injection models)

Single Unit PTT
Power trim and tilt cylinders are combined into a single unit for compactness, high performance, good response and smooth, quiet operation.
(Standard on 40XWT, 50HETO, FT50C, F60C and F100B models)

Reliability

Over-Rev Limiter
Acts automatically to stop over-revving caused by cavitations and so on, to prevent the engine damage.

  Low Oil Pressure Warning
When oil pressure falls below fixed pressure in four-stroke, engine speed reduces and light and/or buzzer alert the operator. (Standard on all Four stroke models)

Overheat Warning
If the water inlet is blocked, this system prevents overheating by reducing engine speed and warning the operator by means of a light and/or buzzer.

  Sturdy Gears and Gear Case
The gears and the gear case, built tough and durable, can withstand collisions with rocks and other objects.
